Venus After Dark: A Floral Immunity Cocktail for Libra Season 🌹💜

There was no way I was going to make my first-ever cocktail and not start with something that also reflects what I do here at Sip • Eat • Heal.

We’re still in Libra season, where Venus invites us to enjoy beauty, pleasure, good food, beautiful drinks, and the little luxuries that make life feel good. But October is here, the evenings are getting darker, and spooky season is starting to creep in.

So apparently, Venus is staying out a little later.

Meet Venus After Dark—a deep purple botanical cocktail made with an herbal tea base of hibiscus, elderberry, and echinacea, sweetened with my immunity honey and brightened with fresh lime and pineapple. Then comes the after-dark part: St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur and rose syrup.

It is floral, tart, fruity, slightly sweet, and absolutely beautiful in a chilled coupe.

Why Start With an Herbal Tea?

Because this is Sip • Eat • Heal.

Instead of beginning with a traditional cocktail mixer, I brewed a concentrated herbal tea using hibiscus, elderberry, and echinacea.

Hibiscus provides vitamin C and other plant compounds, while elderberry and echinacea have long histories of traditional use during cold and flu season. I added my immunity honey after the tea had cooled somewhat rather than adding it while the tea was piping hot.

A squeeze of fresh lime brings acidity and brightness, while a splash of pineapple juice rounds everything out with a little tropical sweetness.

And honestly? You could stop right there.

The tea base is delicious on its own and can be chilled and enjoyed as an alcohol-free drink. I’m also using the same herbal base for another creation: immunity popsicles.

But this time, we’re taking Venus after dark.

Venus After Dark 🌙🌹

Makes 1 cocktail

Herbal Immunity Tea Base

  • Hibiscus

  • Elderberry

  • Echinacea

  • Water

  • Immunity honey, to taste

  • Fresh lime juice

  • Splash of pineapple juice

Brew the hibiscus, elderberry, and echinacea in hot water to create a strong, concentrated tea.

Strain and allow the tea to cool slightly before stirring in your immunity honey. Add a squeeze of fresh lime and a splash of pineapple juice.

Allow the mixture to chill completely before making your cocktail.

For the Cocktail

  • Chilled herbal immunity tea base

  • 1½ oz St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur

  • Monin Rose Syrup, to taste

  • Ice

  • Food-grade dried rose petals, for garnish

Directions

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

Add your chilled immunity tea base, 1½ ounces of St-Germain, and a little rose syrup. Start lightly with the rose—you can always add more.

Shake well until everything is thoroughly chilled.

Strain into a chilled coupe glass and finish with a few food-grade dried rose petals floating across the top.

And there she is.

Venus After Dark.

Deep purple. Floral. Beautiful. A little mysterious. Very Venus—but with one foot already stepping into spooky season.

Make It Alcohol-Free

The immunity tea base already makes a beautiful drink on its own. Pour it into your coupe over ice or shake it with ice and strain it, then add a little rose syrup and top with sparkling water for a floral mocktail.

Same Venus energy. She just came home early. 💜
