Let’s talk about the planets, because they are the beating heart of your birth chart. If you’ve been following this series, you know the framework by now. Think of your chart as a theater production. The planets are the actors themselves, the living characters carrying the whole story. The houses are the where, the signs are the how, and the planets are the what. The Moon is your emotions. Mercury is your mind. Venus is your love. Mars is your drive. Every planet is answering the question of what is happening in your life.
Here’s something most people don’t know. The ancient Hellenistic astrologers arranged the seven visible planets in a sacred sequence called the Chaldean order, from the slowest and most distant to the fastest and closest: Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, the Sun, Venus, Mercury, and the Moon. They taught that before you were born, your soul descended through each of these planetary spheres and received a gift at every gate. Discipline from Saturn. Wisdom from Jupiter. Courage from Mars. Vitality from the Sun. Love from Venus. Reason from Mercury. And finally the Moon, where your soul was clothed in a body and delivered into this life. Your birth chart is the record of how those gifts were given to you.
